Preferences & defaults
Three layers of settings and where each one lives.
AllSheets resolves options in three layers: built-in defaults, your org's defaults, then per-project overrides. The org layer lives in Settings > Default Preferences (admins); the project layer lives in the builder under your avatar menu > Preferences. A project override always wins.
What is in the project Preferences drawer
- Builder > Union rules: the union toggle plus per-project switches for the meal, day length, minor, and turnaround checks (the hour thresholds are set org-wide in Settings > Default Preferences). Violations flag in red on the schedule header and on the specific person's row.
- Builder > Scheduler: auto-collapse, per-strip audience pickers, duration format, and similar working-style options.
- Builder > People: cast status codes, talent time breakdowns, and other people-section fields.
- Builder > Colors: the project accent color, with separate light and dark mode values (dark auto-adjusts when your color would vanish against a dark background).
- Delivery > Everywhere / Live links / PDF: schedule filtering, day/night icons, department head upload permission, attachment pages, condensed scene rows, appending tomorrow's schedule, and the watermark editor.
Watermarks
Any account can stamp PDFs with custom text or an uploaded mark, with opacity, angle, and size controls. The company-wide watermarks live in their own section, Settings > Watermarks (not Default Preferences, which just points there); projects can override in the builder's Preferences > Delivery > PDF. (The Made with AllSheets watermark on free accounts is separate and not removable.)
Org settings
Settings > Settings (admins) holds company-wide behavior: whether department heads can upload or change visibility, whether crew can upload from live links, default schedule filtering, and the default accent color. Job numbers can be enabled there too, adding a Job # field to projects and optionally printing it on sheets.
Watermarks
Company admins can save up to five watermarks under Settings > Watermarks: plain text (like DRAFT) or an uploaded image, each with its own opacity, rotation, and size. Make one the company default and it stamps every PDF anyone on the team exports; flip its Live links switch and it also appears centered on recipients' live sheets, sized and placed like the PDF's stamp, with the sheet scrolling over it. Edits save automatically as you adjust. Viewing your own live link (the pencil/play toggle), the avatar menu gains a Watermark row so admins and producers can hide or show the mark on their own screen; recipients always see it. A preview beside the editor shows a miniature call sheet two ways: as a live link, with a light/dark toggle to check both themes, and as a PDF page. The live-link preview appears only when that watermark's Live links switch is on. Any project can still override the watermark from the builder's Preferences > PDF.
